COCO PEAT
Coco Fiber, also known as cocot peat, is derived from coconut husk. The processed husk and long fibers are removed to obtain coco peat, which can absorb large amounts of water and is used as a substrate and as a substitute for traditional peat in soil mixtures for growing plants.
Fabrication process:
- The coconut husk is harvested for processing.
- The fiber is separated from the outer cover.
- The long fiber and the coconut marrow are collected separately after processing.
- The product is subjected to a washing treatment to remove water soluble elements such as potassium, sodium and chloride. The salt content is reduced to an EC <0.8 mS / cm [1: 1.5 water extraction method].
- The coco fiber is sifted and transformed into compressed blocks of 5kg, briquettes or in uncompressed big bales.
- Products are shipped in sea containers on pallets or loose stuffing according to the client’s instructions.

Flora Báltica provides different products based on coco fiber imported directly from India and Sri Lanka, with different EC grades and fiber content. The product is transported directly in maritime containers to the door of your house.
Coco fiber has natural rooting hormones and antifungal properties. This makes it an excellent growing medium for hydroponic crops or potted plants.
